Graphic documentation of an ancient Roman city fortification.

Also known as Castra Regina, the wall was an impressive fortification system that protected the ancient city. Built in the 2nd century AD, the wall was part of the defensive structures surrounding the Roman legionary camp. A notable remnant of this fortification is the Porta Praetoria, the main gate of the Roman camp. This imposing structure served as a significant entrance and exit point while also acting as a ceremonial gateway for the city.
